How To Get Your Spray Tan To Last Longer

You don't have to lay out in the sun to get a darker complexion, and you definitely don't have to put your skin at risk of skin cancer either. If you want to get a tan without having to lay out for hours and hours, then a spray tan may be just the thing for you. Spray tans are great because you can go into a tanning salon, pick your shade of tan, undress, stand in a booth, and voila! You suddenly have a more bronze complexion. To help your spray tan last longer, this article has a few tips for you to consider.

1. Exfoliate Beforehand

Preparation for a spray tan is key if you want it to last. As part of your preparation, make sure that you exfoliate your skin before you come in. When you exfoliate, you get rid of all of the dead and dry skin on your body, which will help your tan go on a lot more smoothly. Just make sure if you are using an oil-based scrub that you rinse it all the way off before you go into the tanning salon

2. Moisturize

Another way to get your spray tan to last a little longer is to exfoliate in between sessions. Exfoliating will keep your skin looking a lot healthier and will help your tan to stick as well. Plus, spray tans can dry your skin out a little after the treatment, which is the last thing that you want. Try getting into the habit of applying a body lotion at least two times a day before and after you get your spray tan.

3. Touch Up

Did you know that you can touch up your spray tan at home? With self-tanning creams and lotions, you can reapply some of the tan to your skin in between spray tanning sessions. All you have to do to apply a self-tanner is rub it into your skin in a circular motion and make sure that you cover every part of your skin. Then, after you rub it in, make sure that you wash your hands because it can tint them an orange color.

Having perfectly tanned skin during this time of year is a must, but if you do not have time to lay out or if you are worried about skin cancer, then consider going into a salon and getting a spray tan.
